About SyriaGraph
SyriaGraph is a public-interest transparency database. It maps documented relationships between Syrian public officials, government institutions, public figures, companies, organizations, contracts and projects, and links every relationship to the evidence behind it.
Methodology
Evidence first
A relationship is only published when at least one public source supports it. Each claim shows its source, publisher, publication date, the relevant excerpt, when it was accessed, an archive link where available and a verification status. Sources that contradict a claim are published alongside it, and the claim is then marked as disputed.
Verification status
- Verified: confirmed by a primary record or several independent sources.
- Partially verified: key elements confirmed, others not yet.
- Unverified: reported by a credible source but not yet independently confirmed.
- Disputed: at least one source contradicts the claim.
Confidence
High, medium or low confidence describes the strength of the evidence — for example an official registry extract versus a single report. It is never a judgement about whether anyone did something wrong, and the type of source alone never decides it.
Transparency signals
Some profiles show relationship patterns that are commonly examined in integrity research, such as an official connected to a company that received contracts from their institution. Every signal explains exactly which documented relationships produced it. This signal identifies a relationship pattern for further investigation. It does not establish corruption or unlawful conduct.
Review
Every record is reviewed by a researcher before publication; sensitive records need a second, independent editor. Automated tools can propose records, but they never publish anything. The full edit history of each record is kept.
What we do not publish
We do not publish private addresses, private phone numbers, passwords, leaked private personal data or personal information unrelated to a public role. We do not label anyone as corrupt.
Corrections
If something is wrong or missing, please send a correction or a contradicting source. You can do this anonymously.
